How Make it Visible started
In May 2022 Ford created the Higher Vis Vest, a new safety vest designed to increase the visibility of mental health within construction – Make It Visible was born.
Partnering with the Lighthouse Construction Industry Charity, a charity dedicated to the welfare and wellbeing of construction workers and their families, the Higher Vis Vest has been introduced to construction sites in vans supplied by Ford.
By making Welfare and Wellbeing support visible in sight on every site, the Make It Visible program is reducing stigma about discussing wellbeing by starting the conversation and increasing awareness of support pathways for those struggling with emotional, physical or financial issues.
The creators within Ford have very kindly allowed Lighthouse to adopt Make It Visible to lead a programme to unify Welfare and Wellbeing activity throughout the construction industry in the UK and Ireland.
