Signs and Symptoms

The difficultly with diabetes is that many of the symptoms could be put down to a good night out, late nights and a busy lifestyle. Because of this, some people can have diabetes for 10 years and not get diagnosed until they visit their GP for something else entirely. 6 in 10 people have no symptoms when they’re diagnosed with type 2 diabetes.

Symptoms can include:

  • Increased thirst
  • Frequent urination
  • Increased hunger
  • Tiredness
  • Blurred vision
  • Slow-healing sores or frequent infections

It is important to listen to your body and get checked if you are concerned. The sooner you find out about it, the less damage will have been caused and the more you can do to keep yourself well. The condition can be well managed once a diagnosis has been made.
